You were not the first
nor were you the last,
surely not the worst.
Yet, as memories go
you're worth keeping.
I often think of you
and smile. Surely
it beats sleeping.

This site features local history, art, poetry, photography, and prose. The emphasis is on the Palisades, that neighborhood between Key and Chain Bridges on the Potomac River. Captain John Smith explored the neighborhood (probably coming ashore at Fletcher's Landing) in the Spring of 1608. Photography is all hand held and mostly local. Paintings and drawings are local found art or from the hand of the author.
